Giving a great product the identity it deserves

The brief

Instron is a leading global supplier of material and product testing equipment. Its ElectroPuls range is state-of-the-art and non-hydraulic for dynamic and static testing. It’s used in research facilities and laboratories the world over to evaluate the properties of materials, components and structures. They wanted our help to create a brand language and new housing for their latest range - ElectroPuls.

What we did

When we first came on board, the new range had no physical brand identity to speak of, so the project required an initial exploration of the product, its sector and the market segments it would sit in. We assessed the competition along with comparative products from the medical, technical and commercial sectors. This research was then combined in an initial phase of sketch development and, once evolved, in 2D and 3D CAD ready to be developed into a full-scale model for testing in our development centre.

Result

As you can see, the ElectroPuls’s styling communicates both its high-tech features and enhanced capabilities. It also looks like nothing else of its type, clearly differentiating the ElectroPuls from the competition.
