Instron ElectroPuls
Challenge
Instron’s ElectroPuls™ instruments are state-of-the-art, non-hydraulic systems for dynamic and static material testing. PDD’s objective was to create a coherent visual brand language appropriate to the new ElectroPuls™ products.
Solution
The new equipment had no physical brand identity so the project required an initial exploration of the visual brand language of the target market segments. PDD analysed direct competitor products and the language of analogous products from the medical, technical and commercial sectors. Following sketch development the resolved concepts, PDD further developed in 3D CAD to ensure speed and precision before making a full-scale visual model.
Result
The many disparate elements of mechanism, structure and interface were resolved in a new, visually coherent scheme that maintained the required structure and stability. Since much of the technology in ElectroPuls™ remains hidden, the exterior communicates its hi-tech quality, enhanced features and capabilities as well as differentiating it from competition.
